Default Carbon fiber hood

I just bought an 02 civic 2 door ex and it already had a carbon fiber hood And a front body kit. I'm going to replace the body kit but want to keep the hood. I don't know what company it's made by. But it's got bad sun spots on it. I want to try to get it looking new. I have herd either clay bar it or just sand it. Any suggestions?

Clay bar won't do anything for it. Won't be a bad idea to use one to clear contaminants out of the surface but that will not make it look any better.

Your best bet for a permanent solution is to sand the hood down until all the imperfections are gone and re-clear it with a flex agent and a UV inhibitor. The flex agent will allow the clear to bend without cracking and the UV inhibitor will help to keep the sun from doing further damage. If you don't have any experience with this sort of thing then a good bodyshop should be able to handle it in a day with no problems.

Ok cool well I don't have experience doing it. And I live in a small town and the detail people have never even seen a carbon fiber hood. So I will probably take it to a shop that knows what they are doing. Thanks for the info.
