How many of you keep your car outside and daily drive it?
Use to own an s2k AP2 two years ago but sold it. Now I want one again but I lost my garage spot and I am dieing inside because I don't have a fun car to drive; Yes, I am spoiled and have kept every car I have ever owned in the garage. Now I am looking for an AP1 02+ and I was just curious to see how many of you daily drive your s2000's and don't keep them in the garage.
Also what problems have you had with keeping your car outside?
Do you care that you keep it outside or not?
People with the higher mileage(90k+) s2k's, What problems have you had with the car in general?
Besides cracked retainers, and the oil banjo bolts, Should I have any concerns?
I am looking at an 02 S2000 with 95k on it tomorrow. Original owner, clean title, and always garaged. So I am looking at for some insight from you. Please answer if you are in a similar situation. Thanks

i had an 00 berlina kept it outside and it was my only car so i drove it 24/7 i had no problems keeping it outside or dding it i got it up to 108k from69k it was all hard driving had zero problems with the car. only thing is that u gotta watch where u park cause other pple r careless and will ding and scratch it.
It really depends on your you live and stuff, like i live in a bad neighborhood where my car will be gone if it's not garage. so yeah.
I wish I could have mine in my garage but i have another car in there and i hope i can get rid of that car soon so I can park the S2k in the garage
i do now but before i moved to texas all my cars were garage kept. 6 months here and my car was broken into and hardtop stolen. my hatch that i owned 3-4 years ago in florida was garage kept and i left it outside literally only a handful of times and it was stolen (although orlando has high theft rates for hondas). bad luck i suppose.. i can't imagine leaving my car outside with a softtop... and the area i live in is considered pretty nice in texas.
I have a beat down sleeper. I put her in the garage whenever she is ready to rest. I need a bigger garage tho, cause i hate pulling it out and having bugs crawl on my ****. Thinking about getting one of those inflateable bubbles. Im sure the neighbors would love me. I could lay a car cover over the bubble so they might not notice.

I live in a good neighborhood, just foggy as hell. Also my driveway has a tree covering it so cars that park there get dirty immediately.
How does the soft top hold up to the mild climates, mainly fog, and sometimes sunny?

This is one of my concerns. I have a soft top and would hate to see it fades, or look worn. It would just bug the hell out of me if the soft top looked ragged and beaten up.
I DD mine and park it in the driveway every day. Havent had any problems so far, but i live in a pretty good area. Although i will be garaged in about 2 months when i move to my new house
i DD mine and its parked outside all the time, i dont live in a bad area either though, not a lot of theft in east idaho though lol, i drove it in the winter last year didnt do to bad with snow tires but gonna be garaged this winter hopefully
only issues ive had with parking mine outside is that my headlights have began to fade, and when brids **** on the soft top you cant just wipe it off.. both of these you can remedy with some elbow grease, its just annoying..
i dd mine and it stays outside. i wouldnt mind leaving it outside but i park under a tree so birds **** on it almost every single day. lol i would much rather have a garage to put it in and a dd to drive to work so i wont have to worry bout door dings and stuff. but for now its my dd.
I DD mine and I park outside, I live on the west side of Cleveland and never really experienced a problem. But a spot just opened in the garage so it will be sleeping there from now on!
Although if you do park outside invest in security!!

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
I park mine outside if I have something going on in the garage. It's a bigger 2 car garage, but sometimes I'm motor swapping or working on 2 cars at once.
Most of the time its inside. I daily mine in the spring thru fall. Its like I never wanna drive my other car(s) cuz the s2000 is so fun to daily lol. If it didn't snow here, it would be my only car. I know it would do fine in the snow with snow tires....but the winter DESTROYS cars around here. Mine is super mint. Thats also the reason I hate leaving it in lots. I have no door dings or other parking lot wounds....and I really don't want any.
I just try to park far away from all the morons. Don't park next to trucks or minivans...or vans of any sort. Park away from crappy looking beaters. Park strategically on the end spot next to a curb or a handicap spot or a friend.

i DD my "2000" ap1.. i live in a quite neighborhood, private parking at my job, not to bad,,only down fall is my softtop is "slowly" showing its age from the summer heat on the clear part, nt that bad at the moment but it irks me..that can be fixed with a h/t ; )
I use a soft top protectant, can't remember the name, but it's made for vinyl tops. You brush it on and you can see it penetrate. It's a little difficult to use but it restores the top to a shiny new condition. Water will bead off like a layer of wax. I got it at Schucks for a few bucks.
Waterlock protection
If you have a cold air intake that runs underneath the headlight, you should plug up the drip hole above it in the engine bay.
Stolen seats
Seats locks. S2000 seats are expensive and sought after by bitch *** thieves who want to put them in their civics.
I drive mine daily and garage it at night. If I had to park on the street, I'd buy a silent alarm and be prepared to protect my property with deadly force. Sorry thieves, you deserve to die.
