Default vtec not kickin in.....

okay so i bought a 93 prelude with a jdm h22 in it....vtec was working properly till a couple weeks ago then all of a sudden it quit on me, cant hear it activate........i replaced the silenoid n pressure switch but still no luck and it isnt throwing any cel other than the srs light staying on but i doubt that has anything to with it.....i did switch out the old cluster and replaced it with a el cluster but i also doubt that has to do with anything.....also motor has correct oil and no dents on the oil pan, so at this point i am now clueless.....

i would check your wiring if you have replaced the solenoid and checked your oil. Who knows the person who did the swap might have done a half *** wiring job.

LOL!!! you guys can be funny sometimes! but lets help the OP out...

-Check to make sure your oil level is up to the top of the "full" level on your dip stick (be sure this is done on a level surface).

-Check your oil pan for dents. if it's dented it could be preventing your oil pickup from getting enough oil to your engine. Computer sees this and does NOT activate vtec.

Let's not help the OP.

There's an official "Why doesn't my VTEC engage?" thread in the FAQ.

I would have to agree with Kronn. That's why there is a thread specifically for this problem. So, you can troubleshoot it on your own.

Almost forgot about that... But how about next time instead of throwing a bad attitude throw a link or something in your reply. helps others when they search for the problem. Now had the OP looked in the FAQ he would have found it there. But I digress.

I don't feel the need to link nooblets to threads that are already in the FAQ.

Have you seen the title of the FAQ thread? Let me refamiliarize you with it.
