My heater control all of a sudden stuck on me. I haven't used it for maybe 4months due to summer and being in california so I didn't pay attention until it started to get cold in the mornings.
Now the heater *** will move only maybe a few degrees from cold to hot, but not enough where it will actually get hot. It only moves maybe a 6th of the way and stops, can't turn it anymore then.
What happend? It never did this before, it use to move all the way back and forth to hot and cold. Vents work fine, fan comes on, WTF. I am not experienced with the heater controls so I don't know what to look for. Any help appreciated.

try to take your *** off and see if you cant move the control with plyers or give it a squrt of WD40 and see if that help some times if your *** comes off and you put it back on you didnt put it back on the correct way??

Well, tried some of that, took *** off and put it on the other way and more ways... not the problem. You see, the *** moves freely only 1/6th of the way then stops like it can't go any further and I tried taking off the *** and moving it with a screw driver, but almost broke the turning thing. Maybe something rusted shut in the heater core?
I'm having the same problem except my **** came off and I put it back on, it moves just like normal. It actually does move, I checked the cable on the back, but the heat setting stays the same for some reason no matter where the **** is. It is stuck on cold right now, so I got no heat. I need heat because it is starting to get cold here in Iowa. Help!

get down in the paseger side floorboard. at the base of the exhaust tunnel you will see the lever for the heater control. pull towards you, and that should get you heat.
