My new car, tell me what you think. (pics inside)
Hey everybody. I just purchased this car about two weeks ago, and have since put a new engine in the car. I wanted to get everybodys opinion on the car. I have many plans for this car, that being stated would like to discuss setups/brands with you. Give your opinions good or bad. Thanks.

Looks very clean. Any rust in the rear quarters?
You're in Cookeville, TN? Throw some good shocks, lowering springs, and a swaybar on that thing and hit the Dragon!! It's only a couple hours away. If I lived that close, I'd be out there every weekend.

The car is a 1995 model EX. It still has AC/PS/CC and has the Acoustics Research sound system. The car still has the factory paperwork, anti-theft card, and orignal salesmans busisness card. The car was a one-owner. The car had 270,000 miles on it but as you can see, looks brand new. Once the swap was completed about four days ago, I have recieved two CEL codes, its code 10, as well as 14. Anyone know if they would be connected to each other or just seperate instinces?
Looks nice man. Welcome to H-T! You will find anything and everything you need on here from information to parts. Just take some time and research through the forum to see what swaps/mods you can do to make it faster/reliable, etc.
Haha yeah in the big C-ville. Actually no rust on the quarters or anywhere for that matter. Thanks for the props!

Code 10 is IAT (Idle air temp). Code 14 is IACV (Idle air control valve).
Are you sure you didn't plug the two connectors into the wrong sensors? I'm not 100% sure, but I think the IAT and IACV are both round 3-pins, meaning you could swap them around.

thanks for the response. Is the only way that I can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery? I have swapped the connections and nothing has really changed. The engine runs so quietly, you would not know it was running if you did not look at the tach. Im a bit concerned though, it idles at about 250rpm. Is that normal? Seems a bit low. Is that a product of the codes?
I'll take a well-maintained car over a low mileage one that's been beat any day. I learned that lesson with my POS CRV. It's very nice to have good documentation.

Often times the IACV is just dirty. You can clean it with carb/brake cleaner and see if that helps. I don't really know much about the IAT though. Did you reset the ECU after swapping the wires to see if the codes went away?
Nice find by the way, clean EJ.

thanks for the props. I think tommorow afternoon i will take off the IACV and clean it and reset the computer and see if it changes anything. Hopefully it will take care of my problems. I do plan to boost soon as i can get everything straight on the swap!. I just want enough boost to make fun, seeing how it still has ac/ps and such..
You can reset the ECU by removing the 7.5A Back Up fuse for a few minutes.
What are the wire colors in the connectors plugged into the IACV and IAT sensors?

I believe that the IAT has a grey connector and the IACV one is Black. There is also the Evap purge control solenoid directly above the IAT. Could that be a swapped plug as well?
I'm not sure which wires it actually is. I know i do have a massive smoking problem now though. Im not sure where it is coming from
