Im thinking about buying a civic from a guy that is a 2000 ex was automatic but has been converted to manual trans (he bought it like it is he didn't care)but it will rev fin but at 4200 ish it bounces back and fourth like there is some kind of governor.No matter how long u rev it just bounces back and revs again any ideas or advice is extremely appreciated.?btw there are like 4 plugs sitting on tranny 1 is hooked up other 3 just chillen? again Thanks

 

does it have a the correct manual ecu?

 

sounds like the car thinks its in neutral or something along those lines.

 

u need a new harness to accomodate the manual trans sensors and computer for that year model

 

Thanks for all the advice!! but im not sure what trans ecu is it it anyone know the manual ones # or how to tell, and yeah even when its in nutral it wont rev passed for grand .... its a manual tran in a factory auto shell But im not even sure the trans have anything to do with it <it is a vtec motor could the vtec be keeping it from reving past $???? im tryn to acces it what all it could be. the check engine light is on and Advanced auto code scanner will not work or im not hooking it up right just wont read the code Thanks Again !!
