PLEASE HElp!! (No bashing) Desperate need of help with my build!
Hello Everyone!!!!!!!
Let me introduce myself a lil..I have been in the honda game for a longgggg time. I am a broke college student lolol that is graduating the end of DEC. I plan on gathering the parts over the next few month and tuning and assembling by feb/march. I have been racing for a long time as while (street and strip, no more street no more). I have a 95 civic hatch w/ a JDM gsr (b18c). I was previously turboed with a b18c1 but now im gonna go all motor. I plan on doing a semi-build... more specifically a fully built head and full bolt ons.
here are my current plans subject to change of course:
-blox type b or c cams
-full blox valve train including flat top valves
-skunk2 70mm tb (already have)
-skunk2 intake manifold (have)
-aem fuel rail w/ fuel pr (have)
-header (hytech replica)
-ctr n1 crank pulley (have)
-OEM honda gaskets
-OEM type r oil & water pump
-dyno tuned with hondata s200
I am hoping to make around 200 whp...mind you this is in a fully gutted cx hb currently weighing 2214 with me a 190lb driver.
Here is my dilemma: I have been doing TONSSSSSSSss of research about Blox and their products, more specifically their cams and valvetrain. I haven't found much info about people's experience with them. Therefore i am turning to the honda-tech gurus LOL :D. I would REALLY appreciate if people would please share their experiences with blox cams and valvetrain...including dyno numbers and mods...i would further appreciate if you could show dyno sheets. Please do not turn this into a Blox bashing session, no heir-say stories; only real concrete experiences. I really just want a quick mid-high 12sec all motor hatch for the moment until i fully build it later in life when i have the funds needed.
I just want to GREATLY THANK EVERYONE in advance for taking the time to read this wall of text LOL and contributing and helping me!

i currently run blox type C's in my motor..
buddy's car setup:
factory honda parts bottom end (1.8L)
port flow head
blox type C's
car put down 243 whp on blox C's. they tried skunk pro 1s and 2s but the C's made the most power. i can text him to see if he will post a dyno sheet. on a dyno that reads low too! he was on a very nice intake mani and header tho.

thanks for contributing, i aprreciate it and i would like if you can get in touch with him for more info as to his mods and possibly a dyno sheet........Anyone else with experiences with blox love or hate?
ok guys i was at the dyno today and this motor setup was brought up again..it was not the oem 1.8L bottom end like i thought it was. still tried all those cams and the blox C's made the most power. GL
thanks alot everyone that contributed....quatermileperformance do u know what compression ratio your friend had on his build? and also which cam do u like better the blox type c or b

The thing to remember is that all blox cams are a replica of another brand (mostly Skunk2) The type C that was mentioned is a copy of Jun 3 cams. If you want to see how they dyno, just look at the dyno threads in this section and check out the skunk cams as well as others that run the blox cams.
i believe 12.5:1 comp and also ive never personally ran blox b's or known anyone running the b's. always went to the C.
thanks.... is it true that blox cams are bad quallity cuz i hear a lot of people bad mouthing them saying they are prone to breaking? i feel like its a lot of heir-say and bashing rather than truth.........could someone please comment with experience
edit; experience with blox cams please good or bad

Mar778c above had one of them break and in his case you can clearly tell it was a faulty cam and not installation error. All I can say is that it happens from time to time with various manufacturers and in most cases it's installer error. I'd ask Mar778c what kind of service he got from Blox when he had this failure and that should help tell you what company you want to deal with in the future,

every cam manufacturer is going to have cams break..always seems to happen to someone. ive had friends/customers snap skunk2 pro series cams..whether it be install error or defect. i personally would not worry at all about breaking a cam. The blox C's are dyno proven to make killer power against cams almost double the price, and they are the best bang for buck.

people hate on blox because they don't do any of their own research and development, they simply copy others and produce it. Some people have stong feelings about that, others don't. It's up to the individual to decide.
so true, that is what i figured. i feel the same but i am too poor to be basing my decisions on things like that lol.
