Default b20 question

the b18c5 i bought was rejected from every machine shop i took it too so i bought a b20z2 block and i will be building my frankenstein motor with a b16a2 head but im wondering if i can use the b18's gsr crank and rods and other misc. parts i've put them on the b20 to try to determine this but mechanical specs and clearances are not exactly something you can determine just by throwing an eyeball on it so im asking the board

mainly because when the sleeve cracked it took a good chunk of the cylinder wall with it and i can be fixed supposedly but it has to do with how deep my pockets are to the sum of 2700 by the one that would do it and the b20 was cheaper as far as my plans for it i wanna use some of the internals and as far as the block as much as it kills me its sitting on my porch keeping a tarp from blowing away...

What was the price difference between putting aftermarket sleeves into the B18C5 and getting the B20 block?

the stroke of the b18 is shorter then the ls/b20 crank.. i think its 87mm to 89mm stroke. If your doing an NA build, use the B20 crank for that extra stroke.

about 2 grand and its not just the sleeve thats toast its the cylinder wall as well and i just cant justify paying that much for repairing it and living in alaska everything is EXTREMELY expensive to ship or it would be going down south for quotes

your better off with the b20 internals. the shop i deal with actually takes ls internals and put them in the vtec blocks. the type r bore is 81mm and the b20 is 84. to use the rods and crank from the type r you need 84mm pistons for a type r or gsr. but your better off with the b20 internals bc of the tq
