re clearing carbon fiber hood

my hood has deep cracks is there a safe chemical way to strip the clear coat or will wet sanding cut it?

your carbon hood doesn't have clear coat on it. it is a gel coat. you can sand it down with a 1000 grit and reclear it and see if it takes the scratches away
