Hey guys got a question an sorry if this is in the wrong section,

I want to rebuild my d16z6 an was wondering in orange county area I could take it to be hot tanked? I heard from someone that you can't hot tank motors anymore in Cali is this true? An if not where do all you southern Cali guys go to get them cleaned an honed an all that good stuff. Thanks again for any info or links

 

RS Machine bored and honed my z6 block a couple of years ago. Close to OC, right off the 5 fwy.

Rite on thanks there not that far from me, do you remember how much they charged you?

 

it was 2 years ago, they bored .5mm over, honed the cylinders and pressed the piston/pins on the rods for me.
just give them a call, my stuff was in their shop for less than a week.
engine is in my car now, boostd 10psi, never had a problem.

 

Do not hot tank al. with hot caustic solution, it will react with the al. quickly and pit bearing and cam journals.

Most shops in Cali use a jet wash. If you want it looking clean like brand new, have it media or soda blasted.
