Rattlecan Primers
Hey guys what kind of Rattle can primer can i use to cover my body work and have it be compatible with automotive paint? I used rustoleum to fix some spots because that's all i had around at the time but will it melt through an automotive paint? or will it be ok, i have heard mixed things.
I've always used anti-primers on my models, and has never had much of a complaint, except the relative expensiveness of primers hobby, probably largely due import costs of stuff. The virtue about Tamiya spray can primer is that you can spray the outside. I use an airbrush in a booth with filter and mask painting, but I would not even boot at risk.
yea i used some Rustoleum or whatever primer on my car but i was told it will eat through the paint , i started using high build primer filler in a can to do my doors, i never heard it could crack.. hmm.

Over here in the U.K you can get 2k high build in a rattle can, sounds strange but has a plunger on the bottom of the can to activate. Works a treat and are ideal for spot repairs etc. See if you can get something similar
I used it anyways. For the doors only.
Its been like 5 months after the paint job and still looking good no cracks on the doors. Keep in mind this was a maaco paint job
they are 24.95 or something like that per can.
ya in CA it goes for 20 to 30 bucks a can, but know that it will take like 500 cans to do a whole. car, they are meant more for small spots so u dont have to bust out the spray gun and mix up primer then clean ur gun.... just a short cut for small areas.
