Default Cooling Fan not working?

(For a 1997 Civic Dx) using a after-market radiator that came with a cooling fan...its a no brand radiator and fan but just wandering why when i plug up the cooling fan it doesn't work? i checked all fuses and its good...could it be a bad plug on my car?

try to jump the fan from the battery and if that works then hook it up like its suppose to and disconect the fan switch plug from the thermostat housing and jump it with a wire, then turn you key to the on position and see if it turns on.

Did the oem fan work before?

Unplug the plug for the fan switch on the thermostat housing and jump that with a paper clip or something, with the key on "II", the fan should come on when it's jumped.

If it does, then you have a bad fan switch.

If it doesn't, take a multimeter and stick one lead in one side of the plug and the other lead to ground and see if you get 12-14V. If you don't get this voltage you either have a popped fuse or the wire's shorted some where... If you do get voltage, then check for 12-14 at the fan plug.
