Default 95 Accord Questions

Hello All, I recently acquired a 95 Accord with a H22 full swap. Just replaced all gaskets in the engine and eliminated all leaks, while replacing a lot of stuff and converting my tensioner. I also replaced an axle and got her running to perfection. But, I have a few questions about the car, and I am new to the Honda world. As follows:

- My Vtec kicks in a 3800, why is that

- I have a squeak from the passenger from wheel area, AS WELL as some hopping and a pop pop pop noise, kinda like my strut is fubared

- I just bought some Nuespeed springs and they are already mounted on a new set of struts, I really want to put them on the car, because my current struts and springs are bottoming out on even the smallest of bumps. I have 18x7.5 te-37s on the car and i am just curious if i am going to have any clearence issues??

- The car has 181,500 on the body and 45k on the swap. Below are some pictures, any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

as far as the squeak goes, there was a Honda recall way back when for the front bumpstops. they supposedly stick to the strut shafts and squeak when you enter steep driveways and the like. I replaced mine when I did my drop and i'm pretty sure it stopped. at least i haven't noticed it anymore. i think the recall part number is the same as the original part number, but just an updated material. i can send you the recall part number if you really want it. PM me.

you should probably go ahead and change the bumpstops while you're at it if you think are are having that problem. Mine would do it each time i turned into my driveway (one wheel going up and the other going down)

I can get you the part number tonight or tomorrow when I can get to my TSB's. I think it's the same number as the original. you can find it on hondapartsnow.com. i'll try to get the number tonight.

i have stock 17x7 RSX wheels with a 45 mm offset and I don't rub at all, ever. With 17.5, you might, but I can't say for sure. your wheel travel won't change with the drop, but if you are lowering it more than 1.5", you may rub at low speed full turns.

Which one is the original and which one is the replacement? 51722-SV4-902, 51722-SV1-A12. They are both rubber 51722-SV4-901 is polyurethane. I am doing my front end and figured the bump stops would be good. I didn'nt know about the recall. Thanks, but need more info.

What ECU are you running? JDM P13? Chipped P72 or P28 chipped ECU?

As for your VTEC engagement, you can get a chipped ECU and have your local tuner set it to 4.5K or 5.3K rpm for to VTEC to engage. 3.8K is a little to low for VTEC.

51722-SV4-902 is the number listed on the original Technical Service Bulletin from sometime back in '95 or '96. HPN is showing it as replaced by 51722-SV1-A12. Go with that. Must have been updated. I can't remember what the number was on the actual packaging when I got them, but it may have been SV1-A12.
