Default kind of a stupid question ... h22 oversized valves with skunk2 stg 2's

I know the real answer is that I need to pull the head and check v2v clearance but I was wondering if any one else has ran blox b's or skunk2 tuner 2's with .5mm oversize valves?

I have adjustable cam gears and I wanna throw these cams in and get tuned as soon as I can..

On the Skunk2 Website, the recommend not using the Oversized Valves with there Stage 3 and Stage 4 Cam Shafts. With that said, I would assume Stage 2 would be ok, but will sit in and wait for someone with more knowledge to speak.

if thats the case than forget about oversized valves

otherwise check your v2v and p2v, are your pockets cut for oversized valves? as for v2v, it shouldnt be a problem, worst case may need to sink the valve a little or just pull the cams off centerline and add more seperation

Your absoluletly right. I mis-read Skunk2's website. It says Stage 2 and Stage 3 Camshafts are not recommended to use on oversized valves.

I don't know if Im on stock guides or not, the oversize valves are already in the head (I wish it just had oem sized) what is a good way to check if the valve guides are aftermarket or what not? just don't wanna have any clearance issues. Ill pull the head when I get the cams and have it all degreed in and checked for clearances.

when you look at them in the ports do you see black steel or shiny brass?

Color is a good indicator of stock or aftermarket guides...

reason i ask if you have bronze guides is because if you have them you can run a tighter v2v clearance on them

he's probably wondering about valve seal to retainer clearance. More of an issue with pro series cams.
