Default gsr wire harness help!

i am putting a GSR 98 into my 96 Vtec EJ or to most EK i am using the wire harness that came in my car to use for this GSR. Apparently this GSR came with an Aftermarket intake manifold. but this photo shows the exact plug thats on my aftermarket but my wire harness is round rectangular not round like this one. also the plugs do not fit the injectors which are also after market. and the dizzy plugs do not fit my wire harness ... whats going on here??

i thought all this was suppose to connect ??!

It sounds an awful lot like you've got an OBD1 GS-R swap (may have been pulled out of a '98 and then had older OBD1 injectors, distributor and alternator put on)

You can either cut and splice plugs, swap on OBD2 components or in the case of the distributor swap your CYP/CKP/TDC sensors out of your D-series distributor and swap them into the B-series distributor housing.

Either way will work fine, do whatever is easiest/cheapest.

how could he use a obdI harness, that wont plug into his obdII civic chassis unless someone makes a conversion for it? I know rywire has the conversions (if u dont feel like hackin up the harness) for the dizzy, injectors, and I think the alt. Or you could just get obdII alt, dizzy, and injectors. The plug on ur intake is for the butterflys inside gsr manifolds which you could delete with a chipped ecu or engine management or u could keep them if ur ecu is capable of utilizing them (like the gsr ecu i think p72) and you do the wiring. What ecu do u plan on using?

That sensor is the IAT (intake air temperature sensor). If you can find a plug like that swap it over to the one that is on your harness by depinning it and put the pins in that style plug. As for the injectors, if they are OBD1 then you can remove the blue plastic piece in your harness and they will plug right in.

For the distributor just do as said above and swap over the internals.

Forgot that it was for a '96 - '00, was thinking it was for an Integra for some reason. So yeah, OBD1 harness wont work.

just swap out the internals or repin the harness, no need to get an OBD2 unless you can sell this one and get an OBD2 for the price, as for the alternator just use the OBD1 one via this pic

now when you say "swap the internals" please specify and if you would have a link on DIY that would be greatful. I have an OBDII alternater from my D motor i noticed it doesn't fit.

I really thought this swap was going to be "BOLT ON". didnt know the head had an OBDI components unless the guy sold me an OBDI and claimed it was a 98.

I took a look at my GSR Dizzy and noticed that "WAIT! THE DIZZY WAS CONVERTED TO ODBI?? WTF!"
Here is the pic!

So i am guessing the Dizzy is OBDII and was converted to OBDI.
Can someone second that motion!?

and as for the IAT (Intake Air Tem Sensor)
This is whats going on...

Now would my Alt from my D fit on my B?

That doesnt look like its been coverted to me, it just looks like its always been obdI but maybe the internals have just been switched. No I dont think the alt will bolt up but I may be wrong. Find a plug that'l fit the iat and cut the plug u have now and wire it up. Im pretty sure you have a obdI motor on ur hands. What ecu came with it? Thats a stock intake manifold right?

Yes false alarm it was not converted... I cut off that black rubber with the yellow and it connects directly from the plug to the dizzy. I guess i will have to stick to PLAN B.. i have the OBD2 dizzy from my d16... i will cut those off and do as Hondapartshero said.

My luck just gets worse. Hopefully the outcome is better.

I've read that i can remove the adjusting bracket for the ALT from the Dseries can bolt on to the Bseries... hopefully i can do it.

Im at work and the motor is at work with me... i cant stop thinking about it.
Plus i cant spend any more money on this project ir my girl with chop my juevos off. she thinks i just bought a regular D swap. wait till she finds out its a GSR. :/

I guess this would help me or any one else out when they do an OBDI B Motor Swap to an OBDII Ek

but he doesn't say anything about keeping the Dseries ALT on the B and if theres a belt difference.

Simply take apart both distributors and swap the 3 sensors, no cutting, no splicing, no hack job, just a perfect OBD2 GS-R distributor.

I just did what HondaPartsHero said to do ... i de-pined all the wires from the OBDI and ODBII distributor and tried to match the OBDII Harness to the Color of the OBDI Plug that comes out the Distributor and i have 2 white/blue. 1 white blue goes to a red and the other i dont know what do with it ... also it says GRN from OBD1 but theres no GRN coming out that dizzy just another White/Blue but there is a GRN on the OBDII wire harness. HONDAPARTSHERO, I NEED YOU!

94EG8 you think that will work??

i just want to plug the same plug from the dizzy to the harness

OBDI Color TDC can be Orange/Blue or Green. Mine Orange/Blue is faded and looks like White/Blue. So that solves that. Today I will mount the motor in and try my best to crank it. I will post up the results and any futher questions.

Big Ups to: 94EG8, Sr420DET, HondaPartSaver and Philosofy1

Thanks for the help!

I fired up the car today.

But my last piston from the dizzy is not sparking.

I did not make the OBD2 to OBD1 jumper for the dizzy cuase i dont have an obd1 harness.

What i did was remove the plug from my dizzy from my single cam.

and pined the wires coming from the dizzy to the plug from the single cam.

I matched the wires to the diagram.

I am using my stock ecu from my single cam for the mean time.

The only CEL i recived that P1337

My motor is a 94 or 95 JDM B18C so i cant plug that sensor in. I did find the trick to this. but why does my 4th aint sparking?
