Default New eBay B16 heads?

Anybody here used one of these?

It is a new aftermarket casting B16 head, bare. $379.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories

I purchased a used ITR motor that was "rebuilt" and the head has a bunch of cam cap scoring and so do the cams. I'd like to throw a B16 head on it and these new castings intrigued me.

that head will probably work ok as a OE replacement...

i was going to suggest emailing endyn about their new DHPS cylinder heads...but i just spend 5 minutes looking all over their website and it seems they no longer sell them.

BUT DHPS seems to be selling them directly now...its probably a better casting/design as the one you were looking at originally. it does cost more but may be worth the extra price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-H...Q5fAccessories

the heads appear to come with the cam caps.....but they appear to be missing the spray bars/rails.....unless it's just not pictured....

At the contact point we made them 7 points harder on the rockwell scale, and 1 point higher all the way around. and 8.3 at the Richter scale ones your valves hits the dip!!

i don't see where it says it comes with new valve seals...like it matters anyway for 30 bucks worth of seals?? for the cost it's not terrible for a new head....

where does it say valve seals? all new heads need valve jobs so i'm not sure where you're going with that one.

fwiw, my endyn dphs head came with spray bars. they don't come with the correct studs for the middle of the valve cover though.

This auction is for a brand new in box aftermarket cylinder head to fit the Honda B16 engine, or any B series wishing to run a B16 VTEC head. This is a brand new casting, not used. This head has brand new valve guides and 3 angle valve job cut into the seats. Why buy used when you can build from scratch with a new head?
If you have any questions about these heads, please email us at Ketronsales@aol.com, or give us a call at 423-288-7157. We are open from 9am-10pm EST Monday thru Saturday.

Need these shipped outside the United States? No problem!! We ship worldwide daily with the most reliable carriers. Contact us for a quote to your location!!

cause you have to do a valve job on a new head, as i stated. you have to cut the angles in. i think you're reading the listing wrong.

it has new guides...not seals...and it probably had a rough/basic valve seat angles cut into the seats so it doesn't look like complete ***.

i wouldn't spend 350ish on that head...but i think if i really needed a new head i would spend the extra on the new dhps head.

For what it's worth DHPS is local to me, there are a few locals running the b16 version of their head. I know larry was working on some issues with rocker arm wear. He had them on the website a few weeks ago when I checked but it looks like they have been removed, not sure why.

If larry ditched the better DHPS heads I would absolutely keep far away from these Ebay heads.

why are aftermarket heads even needed?

OEM head has plenty of material for porting, and has been proven hundreds of times to be strong enough for even the highest power builds

B-Series has been out of the market for close to ten years, buying something new vs. an old *** 1988 pre-OBD casting makes for a better piece of mind for myself. The ebay heads don't look anything like the DHPS heads.

DHPS has been in business for over 30 years doing diesel stuff, so they have to be doing something right. They cast blocks and heads for the diesel guys.
