Default B18B into a 2000 Civic DX: Got everything on hand but anything I should know about???

Sup all.

Right now were fully rebuilding a B20B block/B18B head engine and were going to throw it into an 00 DX with a GSR tranny.

We have everything so far for the swap since were doing it from my brothers junked Integra.

Do we use the EJ6 wiring harness? or do we use the DC4 harness?
Will it be plug and play? Im assuming just extend a few wires since both motors are non-VTEC.

Thanks all.

You'll need to use your stock harness, but cut basically the entire intake manifold portion off the B18B harness and splice it in, wire for wire. Also, extend your O2 sensor wiring. That's what I did when I put a 98 B18B1 in my 97 CX.

Appreciate your input.

Will all of the colors match up?
And since im using the Civic harness, how will we solve the ECU problem? I have a factory B18B ECU, and a P06 tuned ECU with an OBD2A-->OBD1 conversion harness.

Do you have mounts? because none of the mounts from integra will work (other than the brackets for the lower torque mounts)

The P75 needs a B20 basemap or you will be hella lean.

But i wouldve dont it like this:
310cc injectors
new clutch
new fly
IM gasket
new IM ported to 68mm
68mm TB
replace ALL mounts (hardrace makes all 5 for cheap)
Loop coolant lines away from the IM
4-1 or 4-2-1 header, 2.5 exhaust
^^ after all that, get a tune!

I would use the LS trans over the GSR for the longer gearing. More torque and short gears = wheel spin. Also the longer final with keep your rpm's down on the highway.

these are my .02

For tranny I have the Civics stock tranny mount, and on the Integra is a Hasport A2M mount. For the rear I have the Civic stock and an Innovative on teh Integra.
For driver, I only have the Civic stock and the brackets. Cant I just transfer over the mount hardware from the D16 onto the B20 for the driver mount?? and what tranny mount will I need

Torque mounts will not be used.

Distributor wiring

Good luck. 99-00 Civic has a unique-to-it distributor plug. I'm sure someone has a wiring diagram (not me) to make it work. I haven't ever had to rewire one, but I know it has to be done. Someone else with the actual "how to" want to chime in?

I'd hate to see an entire swap held up because you didn't anticipate the distributor not plugging into your engine harness.

I'll kindly disagree with this suggestion. For N/A I'd take the shortest gearing possible (but add a tall 5th gear for highway rpm) as once you start making real power in any form you'll be spinning wheels on street tires whether it's an LS or ITR transmission. I once had an ATS 4.929 final drive in my ITR transmission (with GS-R 5th gear) and it was my favorite mod ever...until I busted it.

I had a friend running high 10's in a boosted LS hatch and he actually lost trap speeds with an LS transmission. His best times/traps were with the shorter geared GS-R.

Go figure.

This is simply not true. I ran a obdI PR4 over the P75, it seemed to have a better idle quality, and "neither" ecu ran lean with my 2000 model B20Z......did you just make this up?

Deetz don't you know that Honda didn't know what they were doing when they programmed their stock ECUs? You know that by simply taking the engine out and dropping into the "wrong" car it automatically runs lean unless you chip it?

LOL!!!

Appreciate it.

And whats the driver side bracket I need to finish the swap?? I thought the OE bracket on the EK would slide into the 2 "lugs" on the timing belt side of the motor but it doesnt.

I was reading something about needing a bracket by part number "11910-P30-000".

Is that the piece I need?

Going to start wiring it up today.

I did a Y8 swap in my DX and I had to move wires around in the ECU harness for the 2 wire IACV. Will I have to do the same for this?

And can someone offer insight on reconnecting the A/C and P/S system?

I currently have a B20B, B18B, and D16Y AC and PS pumps and brackets. Which do I use?? Right now I think im using the B20B P/S pump but it hits the light if it is adjusted outwards too much. I dont think the EK P/S hose fits on the B18B pump though.

Can I use the D16Y7 TB so I can re-use the 3 wire IACV?

The CRV bracket will work, they used the same ac pump as a single cam.
I belive it is the P54, also del sol vtec bracket will work too.
