Next Euro-Spec Honda Civic Leaked: This will not end well

Honda has started working on the real prototypes of their next-generation Civic (for the European market), and we caught the very first one testing close to their European development center in Germany.
The original compact hatch was launched way back in 1972, and the current model made its debut in 2005. European sources expect the new model to arrive in late 2011 or spring of 2012.
The prototype photographed here came in with a similar wheelbase to the current model, but with a slightly wider track. Although completely camouflaged in typical Honda style, a close look gives a first glimpse of the Civic’s new front grille, the handles of the rear side doors and the entire roof line, as well as the greenhouse.
Power will continue to come from four-cylinder petrol and turbodiesel units delivering between 80 and 140 hp., and the current 1.3-liter, 115-hp hybrid motor is expected to be carried over as well.

Thread fail. That car has big *** black plastic body pieces stuck on top of the actual body. Nothing you see in that picture except for the roof, glass, and door handles (buried deep in the fake outer panel) resembles the actual car.
Featured on Autoblog yesterday.
Can't really tell because of the body armor.

i greatly dislike this. if you look at the 93+ civic hatch and 94-01 integra the hatch area is so large you rival small SUV's like the ford escape. i'm not sure if it's just me but cars like the 94-01 gsr just seem so useful. tons of space, peppy enough to get around town. AC, sunroof and 30ish mpg
being that the euro cars were completely different from the US models . .
