Also Need Help With A/C
Hey, everyone...just wanted to start off by saying I'm a new member as of about 5 mins ago. I have modified every car I have owned to increase performance and handling so I haven't had some experience in other systems of the car. I have recently picked up a 94' Accord with 144K and all major services performed in the last 4 months (Bought it from a mechanic that I know personally and already has a Honda). I have been struggling on tracking down the culprit of a poor performing A/C system.
I'll start with covering the bases....A/C compressor is building excellent pressure, clutch is engaging, condensing fan is kicking on and running strong, when vehicle is up to temp the cooling fan is also running, high-side line is hot, low-side line is nice and cold, system was held under a vacuum and then refilled with 22.9oz of refrigerant. My high-side pressure was crazy high at initial testing and that is when I found out that my condenser fan tood a crap. Went to junkyard the next day and installed. I haven't checked pressure since but will do so as soon as I can. Everything seems to be working but on an 80 degree day with 80+% humidity I am only getting 20 degree drop in vent temp from outside ambient temp, and that is while on max a/c. I'm only getting a 10 degree drop of cabin temp to vent temp. I'm struggling because everything in the system seems to be running properly but I'm not getting the cooling performance that I see in my other car.

Anyone? I live in Ohio and the weather here has been nothing but hot with crazy high humidity for two months straight. I went to the local pick-and-pull today and removed the entire condensing box from under the dash (whole thing was only $15). I just don't know if I should evacuate the system and then replace the evap coil, txv, and thermostat all in one shot? What's the next thing I can to do get this thing solved asap?
