Can't fill up my gas tank.
Ok first of all this is really odd...
After driving my hatch around for a little while the other night, I noticed it was about time to fill up. So, I head down to the gas station, put in the card, and start filling up with 91.
After about 1.3 gallons, the handle clicks.... WTF? can't be done already... so I figure it's a finicky nozzle. I attempt to do it manually, and I get gas sprayed all over me.
It turns out, I can't fill up my tank. It's as if something has been jammed into the inlet section of the gas tank...
1) I know the tank was almost empty. I had gone 280+ miles on this tank.
2) I checked to see if I could see anything in the section near the inlet; nothing.
3) There is an odd slow bubbling sound sometimes if you listen while the car is off. This could be totally unrelated... but how knows...
It really sucks...
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Yeah, I've tried several places...
And no, when I remove the gas cap, there isn't the usual pssssh when the pressure in the system equalizes...

Don't think someone stuck something in there... regardless, something is in there!
The weirdest thing is, there are no marks around the gas filler door... so I don't see how someone could have gotten in there to cram something in... I still haven't been able to try and dislodge the blockage, but figured I'd reply and get a bump.
Eventually, should I just remove the cover inside the car, and check in the tank that way?
Any more ideas?

you could have this: I heard a story where an old lady bought a used VW from a delaership and she could only fill it up a bit, so after getting pissed she took it back to the dealer and they took the gass tank out to see if there was something wrong. So they dropped the tank and replaced it with a new one and the lady drove off, one off the technicians was curious enough to see what was wrong so he cut open the tank. Turns out the previous owners wer big *** drug dealer (driving a VW? go figure
) and the welded a separater in side the tank and stashed tens of thounds of dollars in the separated part, true story BTW so you might wanna check that out

better check. this might happen to you and you got hella money for mods
but why would the previous owner forget that he had thounds of dollars?? too much drugs? or he went to jail and the car got repo??
