keep blowing radiator fan fuses.... WTF
in the ongoing battle between my overheating car and i......
i was bleeding the coolant today, wondering why my fan wouldn't come on, and found the blown fuse.
replaced it with another 20A, started the car, and this one blew as soon as the fan came on.
replaced it again (20A), the new one blew as soon as I STARTED THE CAR!!!
ok, so i have a short somewhere, correct?
the only electrical work i've done on the entire cooling system is soldering the rad. fan to the harness, that's it.
P.S. the fan obviously works, and i hear the relay clicking when jumping the fan switch connector. clicking means the relay is working?

so basically cut the wires to the fan (since they're soldered together), resolder, new fuse, and see if it blows?
since i'm getting a feeling this new (to me, at least) FAL slim fan is on its way out, i'm gonna connect/solder my old no-name slim fan up tomorrow, see if the fuse blows, then i'll narrow it down to the fan or not.
I had a similiar problem, i just ran the fan and tied it into the positive wire that goes into the fuse box so the fan always stays on. Haven't overheated since.
Well, that was my solution but my lude isn't a DD i drive it 2 or 3 times a week, so.. that might not be the best for you.

i just bought this mishimoto/FAL combo from some dude on PP who claims less than 6 months use. its to replace my generic ebay rad/fan that was leaking.
so just this morning i swapped the FAL fan for the ebay slim fan, was bleeding the coolant for a solid hour w/ the fan kicking on 10-15 times, and so far it looks good. i'm gonna start praying it did the trick.

mehh, it was working for about 3 weeks now, and i guess decided to die just now. so it was working when i installed it, so i'm not puttin the dude at fault. just shitty luck on my end i guess.
