aftermarket cams with 30K.. yes or no?

Default aftermarket cams with 30K.. yes or no?

i have a chance to get a JUN head kit with 30K miles on it. its the cams, gears, valvesprings, and retainers.. i think they came off an Si. is 30K to many miles? he wants $1100 for them. ill prolly get pics of them tomorow.

hopefully these pics look good.. im not gonna drive this car on trips. just around town. i can get a brand new set for 1800... i dont know, saving around $600-700 is good. but this is the internals of my engine.

Used valvetrain is not my thing...I usually don't buy items that wear over time.

I think the cams, gears, valve springs will be fine for 30K, but just the retainer you have to aware, I think you should spend a little bit more to get a set of new, correct me if I am wrong, thx

yeah the retainers.... ive heard those crap out quick, especially the JUN. yeah, i might go with these for a couple K miles then switch to portflow.

I would get new ones and swap them in at the same time to save money.

I bought Yack's old Spec B's with many miles on them -- they looked brand new.

If the previous owner has taken care of them (proper warm-up and cool-down - think turbo car care), they should be fine. Look carefully at the pics and make sure there is no undue wear on the cams.

Get detailed pics of the retainers. If they look suspect, ask for a few bones off and buy new ones.
