ABS light issues
I have a 1999 accord EX, I bought the car about a week or 2 ago and I needed to change one of the upper ball joints, so I changed the complete upper table on both sides it was a simple job never touched the breaks just popped the spindle off and took out the 2 shock tower bolts. So when the job was done I go to take the car out and as I'm reversing out of my driveway the brake pedal goes right to the floor and comes back again after a couple pumps. I have heard of this happening to accords before I'm thinking its something with the master cylinder. I don't think it's related to me working on the ball joints I never touched the sensors or anything perhaps just odd timing. So then the ABS light has been on I checked the fluid levels and tried unplugging some fuses but nothing. I tried diconecting the two connectors on what I beleive is the module(a box with brake lines running through in just in front of the driveside shock tower) and nothing. Can anyone help me do something to turn off the light it drives me crazy, even if its just disconting somthing I personly don't care for abs anyways.
ABS failure can cause a floored pedal. Though, this is extremely rare. I would retrieve the ABS DTC and troubleshoot. The floored pedal is usually caused by a leak or internal master cylinder bypass.
Anyone have a suggestion to turn off the abs light again even if its just diconnecring the abs I don't are I prefer the brakes without abs anyway
