I got a 94 eg..
About 2-3 weeks ago i turn my car on and it made a squeaking noise and it went away and then my car turned on..

i didnt really car about it much because it was only one time, but now everytime i turn it on, it makes the noise all the time

what could it be? i have no clue.

does anything bad happen if i dont fix that??

 

Could be a loose drive belt or a bad pulley bearing. Try removing the drive belts one at a time to see whether removal of one makes the noise go away.

 

it just does it when im turning the key and then when the car starts, it stops.

 

Is the noise coming from the starter motor on the passenger side of the engine?

 

nahh, i kno it doesn't come from over ther,
it come from the right side of the engine(driver side)

 

The driver's side is by convention called the left side.

Do the drive belt removal tests.

You car could have a sudden breakdown that leaves you stranded.

 

Why would you not fix it?

since we don't know where the noise is coming from how can anyone tell you for sure whether or not it could cause something "bad" to happen. certainly nothing good can come of leaving it as it is right?

 

i never said i wasnt going to fix it.
just not right now at the moment.

 

well then figure out what it is and go from there. most likely just an old or improperly adjusted drive belt, but better to be safe and check.

ALSO let me add something to that..
i was cleaning my engine with the spray hose and degreaser to get all the dust out, well when i turned the engine on to help it dry it made that noise.

could i have gotten water somewhere i shouldn't???

this was the first time it ever happen..
