Default 235/60-15's on a DC Integra **PIC** (Hoosier QTP 26x9.5x15)

I didn't find much information for DC applications of this size tire so I thought I'd post this pic and offer my help to the H-T crowd. If you have any questions on ride height, traction, offset, etc for a DC application I'm happy to help. These are the Hoosier QTP 26x9.5x15's

I chose this size (as many others have too) because there are no options in a 235/245/255-50-15. I don't want to run a 16" wheel.

LOL!

As long as you never turn the steering wheel, sure, those will work.

Sorry sir but you are mistaken... I get no rub at full lock in either direction

** EDIT ** Plus it seems you don't understand the application. There are many people running this size tire, it's the only hope to hook 500whp... I just wanted to offer my help in the wheel and tire section as it seems Im one of the first to do this on a DC2.

Unless you have raised your suspension - something that most of us would not do - I just don't believe it. I've seen Integras with oversized tires that are smaller than that (225/50-15 and even 215/50-15) that rub when turning, or when the suspension compresses (like going into a dip). It's pretty obvious from the photo that that's going to happen.

But hey, if that works for you and you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

That has nothing to do with it. Getting grip for a high-horsepower application depends primarily on what KIND of tires you use, not on the tire SIZE. The reason you are getting traction is because you're using sticky Hoosiers. Hoosiers in a less outrageous size will grip too. Less sticky tires in that same monster size won't give you anywhere near as much grip.

The car is on ground control adjustable coilovers. They are pretty much all the way up which is stock height, right? The plastic liner in the wheel well has been removed. I too am surprised I thought it would rub when turning but it doesn’t. The wheels help, they’re 15x7 +25 offset so they stick out a bit. Here are two more pics so you can see the tires stick out about an inch. I’ve only put 20 miles on them but haven’t hit a big enough bump to hear or feel them rub.

I hear you that the kind of rubber makes a huge difference but the size does help with grip. I was running a hoosier A6 225/45-15 and they didn’t hook at all...

Yup pretty much. They're a DOT approved tire so tread wear is better than a full slick

Update:

The tires were rubbing a little. With the +25 offset they do not rub on the inside of the wheel well at all. Even at full lock. They weren't rubbing the fender either but I raised the car a quater or an inch or so just to be safe. The tire was rubbing in the middle of the wheel well where the metal is pinch welded. There's a little thin metal "flap" about an inch long running around the well. Being it's very thin I took a hammer and bent it out of the way. Now no rubbing what so ever during bumps, dips or full lock.

Glad to hear you were able to get them to work without rubbing. Many people aren't willing to make the modifications needed to keep them from rubbing (like raising the car up, and hammering out parts).

How close are you to rubbing on the inside? And where is the least clearance? The control arm or is it the wheel wheel? Do you think wheel LESS wheel offset would fit better?

I removed most of the black plastic liner inside the wheel well. I initially thought I'd like a little more offset so the wheel would look "tighter" however the offset I got was needed. At least I think. Im not sure if ride height affects how it rubs on the inside, but I lowered it a bit and did have slight rub. The rub was on the inside of the tire (engine side of each tire) toward the back of the well / dashboard. The control are was not an issue. There was a little spot of sheet metal where it seemed to rub during bumps when turing so I hammered the section in just a little bit and now it doesnt rub.

Less offset wouldn't hurt because you may not have this problem. But to me it really wasnt a big deal slightly hammering a 4"x4" section where people will never see.

Just so you know - the wheel well liner prevents rocks and pebbles from being kicked up underneath the car. Without it, your fender will be susceptible to "reverse dings" from rocks kicked up from underneath.

Haha. Nope, that's how I drive it on the street.

Interesting, never heard of that. The liner was actually removed prior to these wheels/tires. About 2 1/2 years and 12,000 miles. No visible dings
