DIY MDX compressor replacement ?
Hi all,
My 04 MDX diagnosed with a bad compressor and I'm planning to replace it by myself with a help of my uncle, he's an amatuer mechanic.
I've been researching and got advices either from the auto part store and online, some says it's ok to DIY some says it's not and leave it to pros do it and the reasons are:
1/ I need to discharge R134a before replacing a compressor and I can't discharge R134a into the air since it's illegal.
2/ I don't have a vacuum pump to extract the air out after replacing the compressor and recharge R134a.
I'm looking for a local shop who's willing to discharge R134a and recharge it for me.
Let me know how's everybody think ?

I stopped by Merlin auto repair shop today and they offer discharge, vacuum and recharge my A/C for $129 so I'll go for it. I'll stop by Merlin to have them discharge A/C gas then I'll replace the compressor then bring back to them so they can vacuum and recharge R134a.
