Default Good weekend

Just some pictures from this weekends Solo II.

Okay Saturday night's hockey game to start off with - Ausmith play's center for Milwaukee ACME Hockey. We won 9-3!

The Grid. 211 cars getting 6 runs each... do the math.

Heats 2/4 Grid.

MugenMike in the King ITR.
-Edit for safety-

Rob and Adam in one of several King Civics

CRX_Sista in the King EF

Will O. in the Import Minded GSR - BrewCityR's old GSR.

gefiltefish (Sam) in the Spec V

CRX_Sista's pops - Bondo Dan in the Stook.

Ausmith in the King EF comin' round the last turn - complete with Robs Gutless in the background.

Finally, if any NASCAR team is missing a set of wheels and tires you might want to inquire with the owner of this Fiero. Not sure what these guys were thinking.

Sam does pretty well in the front street tire class... well today he did just okay - his first event with no trophy

But he will win the overall for the year

He officially earned the name "Skidmark" Sam with a nice 50ft patch. He said "You know I should gotten ABS with this car"

Frist car off at 10:00am. Finished around 5:00 today. A car runs every 20 seconds with worker change on the fly and no lunch break.

What team were you playing hockey against? I played for the U of I a few years ago, and that looks just like our jerseys!

He played the oilers on saturday.

FYI Clayton my name on here is Civic_Sista not CRX_Sista.

And he didn't post a pic of my tearing it up......

I dropped 6 seconds from the start of the day to my last run.

Thanks for the pics Claytonious. About time I got some pics of me auto-x'ing.

Spec V's are OK out there. I think they would not to well in DS but do OK in STX. They really have the car out of the correct class and street prepared(CSP) classes. I ran a 49.692 which is right up there with the G-Stock cars. If the car would have a GS index, which is proposed it moves to next year, then I would have trophied easy in every event and won the CEN-DIV opener in F Class.

I have written several letters to the SEB about many class and rule changes/revisions and I think they have been getting the same comments about the Spec V. They see LSD and 2600lbs and automatically think DS because of the ITR. Well the ITR has much more power, a much better tranny for auto-x and a lot better of a suspnesion.

The top DS cars are the ITR, BWM's, Mini S's(next year) and the WRX. IS300's are getting better, S4's can compete and RSX-S's should be good as well next year. I think that the Spec V, Celica GTS and VW's will get moved to GS or some other class(re-structure again) sometime within the next few years. We just dont have the power and suspension to keep up.

I think the Spec V is in the top-five cars to have in STX as well without adding an LSD. ITR's, WRX's and Mini S's would be the top three and I think a Spec V with some lighter wheels, good tires, good shocks(dont exist yet for the Spec V) and I/H/E can really suprsie a few of the top dogs.

And yes, the Spec V should be ordered with ABS!!!! I have locked up my tires about 3 times out there on pretty basic turns. The brakes are pretty strong stock and adding HP's to them really gets some stopping power.

Clayton is going to get a taste first hand on the 29th!

Nate-I think Jeff got 4th in ES and Denise got 3rd in ESL(I may have those mixed up). Mad props goes to Bob Clarke though. That was amazing IMO. Placing that well in a car that is off the hook. DS is mainly for the elite new FWD cars and lower-powered AWD/RWD new cars. Taking 8th in a DS car from 1989 is crazy.

Although some of the other Milw/Chi guys got better trophies(Jason Sani podium in BS and Cashmores 3/4 in ES/ESL) I think Bob Clarke was our regions best showing at Nationals. Gotta give props to Dave Bruener as well getting the 14th trophy in STS.

thanks sam and mike for the update! Glad to hear good old milwukee guys are representing at nationals. If you can get a ride with Bab clark do it. when I was with him onece he had to brake in the middle of a corner to keep three tires on the ground!! It is too bad I am stuck down in IL with a crap load of homework and no time to get back up and auto-x...

Heh, she's finally getting used.

And I wish I was in town and pre-registered for this. Only Gingerman (Oct 20) for me this year.

Yeah he always has someone riding with him though. He went with me on my first day though and it was like a 60 second class after the run was done.

You will see fast people out there like Darell and the Cashmores, etc, etc but they are all pretty nutty if you ask me. Bob Clark(I was saying Clarke before..oops) is smooth as can be. You will see the Padbergs fishtailing corners, getting lock-up, etc...that is fast and all but it doesnt look pretty. What works is what works though.

I'm still at the point that I am too rough. When I ride with Clayton or Rob and others I am more amazed at the smoothness than the time. You will have people that are choppy like me and see the slower times. It happened with Rob at a Tri-State event earlier in the year and will probaly be the same with Clayton when he drives my car.

I am one year down on experience though and I think next year I will do better....especially and hopefully with a Mini!

Yes it was in Milwaukee at Miller Park's far east parking lot.

From Racine take 94 West/North to the Marquette Interchange. Keep west on 94 towards Madison. Move to the far left lane as you start heading west again. Soon you will start to see Miller Park. Take the exit for Miller Park Way. Go south on Miller Park Way and move to the far right lane. Get off for Miller Park parking lot. You will be routed east as you get off the exit. Take a right at the stop lights after you get off the freeway. Go straight through the next stop light. You will now be passing a very large parking lot on your left side. That is where we auto-x.

If there is Porche or BWM clue going they will have the south side of the parking lot and we will be on the North side. Otherwise we have the whole lot. Best thing to do is park on the street and walk in. Dont walk anywhere near the course or active grid as you will be ran over.

Find one of our cars if you feel like a ride or have questions.

Next event is on the 29th of September.

There are usually 14-18 auto-x's a year at Miller Park from early April to late October.

Default Tis I, Negativo in full effect

You guys always talk about me like this, i feel so special? I was very impressed with Adams car. although i did realize very quickly is that you go faster in a straight line that you do with the *** end of the car swinging everywhere. ( i knew that already but finally proved it to myself) Adams rear end is so touchy, it swings out on you like RWD in the snow(fun but slows you down) I took a different line and approached the corners differently than adam and thats why i think i beat him. I still think with one more run i could hit a high 44. I try to offer Sam some pointers but i dont want to sound like im telling you what to do. I've listened to everything anyones told me about driving and most of it has helped my times out.

O and i gotta get me some race tires :D ooo and torque....damn blown b16

Damn - nobody has said anything about the Fiero!!! I thought that was some funny ****. At first was doing a double and expecting a super fast time, but those guys were SLOW! And it really is a NASCAR Wheel & Tire combo!!! Can you say REDNECK? I bet YACK, WILLARD, and CHAD are used to that chit.... I can poke fu at them because I'm an NC native....

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the Sista yet.... she beat 1/2 of the F field - all guys mind you, in what was her 3rd autocross!!! In two weeks I want each of you to ride with her. She is crazy smooth in the turns! The only problem I saw was that she is a little timid when the speeds go north of 50mph.

Negativo - WOW! Dude you were super impressive. It's tough to beat Adam, and to beat him in his own car speaks volumes.

Sammis - after riding with you in the EF last time, My feeling is that you are plenty smooth. Well you were in the EF. You do seem excessively choppy in the Spec V. My only comment to you was on the line you took for some of the turns, otherwise I was very impressed - mostly with the shifting and braking points.

Adam - not that you are here, but for what it's woth.... practice makes perfect. Dude you need to actually show up for more events. You looked a little "rusty". Not the Adam I'm used to seeing out there.

Mugenmike - I fixed your picture! Sorry wasn't even thinking about it. Looks like you are getting used to the Arrrrrr. Get those tires mounted and show everyone wassssup.

Will - mad man in the GS Arrrrr. If anyone is interested in how to stiffen the rear end of a GSR talk to Will. That car rotates better than any H-A product out there.

We can't talk about Wes becuase he has a stook and showed up in the Nissan!

Ausmith - who is going to go read a book and then catch up on some Zzzzs

-edit- just realized that I am posting under the guise of "_Sista"....

SOOOO what if I showed up in the Nissan. Did pretty well in my 110 WHP car too Ayway .188 behind Mugen Mike in the R. Next time he won't be so lucky

Besides, bondo dan is too damn good in his typical run what ya brung style for me to even compete in the S2k.

Good day overall, not too hot, good lunch, and the company of nubs.

"it doesn't get any better than this"

OHHHH I just noticed, it's Disney's Nubs on ice
