Default ebay headers!! LAME!!

so I'm irritated! I've been trying to find an okay priced and okay sized header.. but all of the headers I've found have a measly 2" outer diameter.... and that doesn't make me a happy camper because I picked up a used cat-back and high flow cat from a friend(Jspec??) and it is full 2.5" polished mandrel. i know that I don't necessarily need full 2.5'' exhaust while running a near stock h23, but I do need atleast 2.25". does anyone know of any headers that are 2.25" or bigger??

I had mine cut at the collector and replaced with a 2.5" pipe. Cost like $30

yea.. dont buy the ebay crap lol.. after 2 weeks of driving hard they look like crap and the metal is very brittle. Just make sure it has a brand name on it and your set. i ran 2.25 from headers to muffler with h23, i think its the right size running n/a.

Hytech Rep isn't made for the H23. DC Sports is about the best header for the non-performance engine. 2.5" would be better than 2.25"

Expensive as ****, but: Mugen exhaust manifold is pretty, works well, and you can say you have a Mugen manifold.

I found a dc sports manifold at the crush yard today, but it's missing the DP.. would it be worth grabbing it and seeing if it'll bolt to my oem DP and cut my collector and for a 2.5" pipe weld on?? not sure if it'll bolt up

There is no mugen header for the H23.

kaymoto: i dont think the dc header will bolt up to the oem downpipe. May be able
to find an exhaust shop that will customise something for you but likely to be alot more
expensive than sourcing a complete dc sport or megan racing header.

ya, I was talking to a couple other guys about it too. i don't think it'll work either, the oem manifold to dp gasket setup is the 2 crush rings and the aftermarket styles are aluminum ceramic gaskets. that might cause a problem

it wont... well the ebay downpipes are pretty crappy.. but if u can find a downpipe that matches the outlet size of those dc headers u can use that it should be just fine. Just dont use the gaskets that come with the downpipe, and do not use the metal bracket in the middle of the downpipe where u bolt it up cause it will eventually break and ull have to weld the hole closed lol because it just puts too much pressure on that bracket cause its a tight fit. but its an easy $50 solution.

Im running DC headers, this is what i did and it worked perfectly and sounds great. h22 dc headers to ebay downpipe to test pipe to Apexi n1 cat back no rice to it
