99 Si / GSR swapped, VTEC AND ECT PROBLEMS!
So I cranked my car up today and was driving to work and my damn check engine light comes on. I jump the service pin and it pulls up code 6 (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor)?.*
**99 EM1, stock harness, chipped p28, GSR swap**
I have a couple of questions:
1. What exactly does this sensor do and where is it located? (If I remember rcorrextly it's on thermostat housing but I'm not too sure)
2. How can I test to see if it's good?
3. Could this make my VTEC not engage?
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

wrong vtec will cross if cel is on know that cooloant tempp sensor could be the problem why ur vtec is not working does ur coolant guage still work?with i bad sensor it might be telling the ecu that the engine is still cold witch vtec wont work unless motor is warm

also known as TW sensor/ECT sensor not the coolant temperature sensor that goes to the gauge
I think it may not let VTEC activate because this sensor lets the ECU know the coolant temp and alters ignition/fuel curves accordingly
Problem solved it was a break in one of the two wires lol
