I plan on making this thread into a "how to" with the help of you guys. I have never upholstered anything before and want to put a rouge status shirt on my door paenls in my EG Hatch. I know the basics, but do not know how to carefully remove the plastic pieces holding in the panel that i need to upholster. I am assuming some heat will pursue them. Any suggestions or help will be great then I can show how I did it step by step!

 

everything on your door is held on by no more than 3 screws and a bunch of pressure tabs around the perimeter of the door card. if you need heat to get the plastic off, youre doing it wrong and likely going to break something.

 

Why is this in paint and body?

 

what other section would it go under? technically its part of the body and im not putting it under tech/ misc because that would be the wrong section

you will essentially need to break off the plastic welded tabs that hold the armrest section on, if thats what you want to call it, then peel the old material off, 3M spray adhesive the new stuff on, and reattach the section with sheetmetal screws, i forget the measurement that they have to be unfortunately, i did this awhile back with cowprint in my EG and im gonna do it in pink leopard on my girls daily,real easy to do
