Default What do you pay for insurance?

Alright, so basically, I've been looking into buying a new Si, but I wanna hear what some people are paying for insurance, and their payments. I don't wanna hear "ask your insurance company," I just want to see what everyone's paying. I'm 18 years old, clean record, I'll have a $5000 downpayment, and obviously I know I'll have full coverage. Thanks! I have a feeling insurance will be a bitch.

Sounds pretty cheap to me, how old are you though? I'm figuring around 2 grand a year, prolly a $2200 to insure an 18 year old?

Your 18, why rush into debt? Buy something you can afford. Hell, I bet you could find a decent swapped honda for 5K and not worry about paying the bank back. IMO I'd rather give money to my car than the bank. Best of luck man.

Ah thanks guys. I get what you guys are saying, but I've already been through 2 EK's. I've been in a bunch of different Honda's, and even swapped ones don't seem to impress me. Granted, I'm not talking built cars, but B16/B18 swapped Civics just don't seem to cut it. I'd like something new, reliable, with a warranty, and it's not like the FA's are dogs... With that said, UPS and another part time job should take care of it... Insurance seems to be the killer.

Why does the insurance seem to be the killer?

Won't your car payment be more than the insurance?....Ah I see....You POTENTIALLY want the insurance company to fork out tens of thousands of dollars for someone's medical and property bills and your own medical bills and repair/replacement costs in the event you cause an accident and you probably think giving them 50 bucks a month is fair. How is it fair that you can potentially cause the insurance company to right a check for 50 grand and all you did was pay your lousy 600 dollar a year premium or whatever you think is a good price?

Sorry bro, you're 18 and they've seen what 18 year olds can do with cars. You only feel the insurance is expensive because you've over extended yourself with the car. Save some more money then buy your civic.

You gonna go with the 72 or 84 month financing?...Come on now dont lie to me I will know

I bought a new car at 18 and ended up regretting it big time. Sounds good at the time but i was always broke til i got rid of it. To your question though, 25yrs old, full coverage on an 07 Si is 47 dollars a month. I also have wifes car and house on it so i get a discount. GL with whatever you decide

I'm going to have a blunt response to your blunt reply; You're a ****ing idiot. Anyways, no, I've got about 5 grand for a downpayment, left-over money in the bank for emergencies, and 0% financing for 60 months, not so bad. I understand that obviously the payments are more than insurance, its a $22,000 vehicle. Insurance is the killer, because it's considered sportier, and at 18, it will be a bit on the expensive side. It kills me, because I've been in more dangerous cars insured for cheaper. And as stated, it's not a vette. I don't expect to pay $50 a month, but I don't plan on spending $300 a month. Thanks for everyone. And yeah, I'll be semi-broke, but the only thing I buy is care parts haha, so with a new car, it's all good.

The Si is a very very safe car. It comes standard with things like front & side airbags, VSA (stability control), TPMS (tire pressure monitor), alarm, etc. All of those things will bring down the cost of insurance. It would have cost me the exact same amount a month to insure an '08 DX, rather than my Si. It's still considered a compact car.

Yeah, that's kinda what I hoped, yet, I still kinda figured the "Si" would affect it in some way. This is some good info, thanks!

And yeah, that's why I stated 18, clean record, my location would be PA.
