I got a 2001 Honda Civic LX 2door in the past month it was overheating.I change the water pump along with the timing belt & the thermostat.Also change the motor & a/c filters.The car temp never reach the H well almost.There's cooling inside and no leaks.The car run normal now with the right temp but when turn the a/c on it starts to rise then i need to shut it off and it goes back down to normal.On a super hot %90 day it rise about 3 or 4 lines and when i slow down on the gas it goes back down.The fans work but to me they look like they moving slow idk if i need a new fan clutch or what let me know thx.

 

Check to see if there's air in the system.

 

Is there a test like to know if there's air in the system or any signs to see if there aint air coming in.

 

You checked your coolant?? And also I think I heard that if the timing belt is off, the temp will be higher. I changed my water pump & timing belt just yesterday & I heard my mechanic saying something of the sort.

 

Burp the cooling system. You can use a radiator attachment, like this...



.. which can be found online, or possibly at a local auto parts store.

Or you can just leave the radiator cap off (or just set on top of the filler neck to prevent any potential splashing) and leave the engine running until the radiator fan cycles at least twice and/or until you no longer see any bubbles in the coolant. Keep the coolant topped-off (base of filler neck)

If you use one of those attachments, keep the reservoir about 1/3 - 1/2 full. I recommend getting one, they work great and can be used on a variety of automobiles since they come with different attachment pieces.

The cheapest way is find a plug at the highest point in the water system. IE i took out a sensor right above where the top radiator hose connects and left it out while filling the radiator till it was flowing without any air then put plug back in. easy and free

 

Ok check this out its back.I notice when its super hot out with humid air when i stop @ a light my temp gage start to rise about 2 bars or 3 once its green light and air comes in it goes back in.Thermo and water pump has been change the fan comes on once it reach that temperture to come on and off and there coolant with no leaks.Could it been the temperature sensor or Cooling Fan Switch - Radiator this is a 2001 honda civic use to be own by a women i dont think she ever change anything smh let me know guys...

 

I think it would be highly unlikely that the temp sensor would go out. The fan switch might be bad as well. You can test it or you can just replace it. Is your coolant riding unusually high in your coolant resevoir???
