Power, Light, Fuel, No Response to start - CRX 1990
Hello,
I have a CRX 1990 I purchased. It run fine for weeks (driving it daily) after purchase. Then it was not used for about a week and I then went to drive it and it would not even turn over.
When I turn the key on I get dash lights, hear the fuel pump turn on and build pressure, battery is good; however I get no response from the starter. No attempt what-do-ever once I turn the key to the starting position.
Is there a common problem or characteristic with this car/year that someone else knows about and would be willing to share?
Or possibly what I need to check to find out what the problem is?
I am a first time poster here ...........
Thanks for any help.
Pete W.

Your starter might be shot or the ignition switch is bad. Hit the starter with a hammer and then try to start it. If that doesn't work, make sure you are getting power to the starter.
Thanks B16-CRX ............
Yes I will take a volt meter to it and if indeed it has 12 volts then I will try the hammer advice.
Have you heard of the ignition switch going out on these cars?
Thanks again........

check all grounds, and sensors....remove that starter and test it urself, or go to a autozone and have them test it... does the car turn over at all??? do u head a slight pop or hum behind the radio?? it could be ignition switch/ relay
The Car does not turn over at all. When I hit the ignition switch the engine does nothing even though I have all dash lights working and fuel pump working.
do not hit the starter with a hammer you can break the permanent magnets inside and ruin a good starter. Check to see if there is 12 volts at the starter while cranking in the smaller wire. there should be 12 volts at the big terminal to at all times,
