94 civic dx gsr swap low redline....
hey guys i have a gsr swap in my dx and it has a low redline. i didnt do the swap myself and since i bought it it hasnt reved past 7k on a good day. i even rebuilt the motor with high comp. and it still doesnt rev up as it should. i recently found it has a distributor from a 94ish accord vtec running an external msd coil. could this be the prob? any help is very appreciated
no no its got awesome power hits vtec as it should just doesnt seem to want to rev past 7kish. seems like a stock d15b1 redline. somedays it only likes to take 6.5k. ALSO i had one of my gsr injectors that was bbroke and i had an unknown set (possibly d series) laying around i threw in it. could that be half my problem? i have adjustable fuel regulator and an air fuel ration gauge
As long as the injectors were from any OBD1 D or B-series except a CX or VX they're identical to GS-R injectors. (D15B7 and D16Z6 and all B-series flow 240CC)
If it really does have an accord distributor its not going to run right. Run a B-series Vtec distributor.
