Icon2 Honestly, I want to buy a motor. D16A6?

I read all these posts about people buying D series motors for next to nothing "$40" "$75" I have seen people give tons of numbers around that.

But, when I search, HMO, Ebay, Craigslist, Car-Parters I see numbers more like $400-600

and thats for well used motors.

Which I don't want to spend.

Honestly, where can I get me a D16 /A6/Y8/Z6 a D15b or a ZC

for around a 100 bones or so?

Thanks

your asking for a whole lot for only $100...you can buy someone elses junk on craigslist or spend the extra couple bills for a used one from a jdm importer with a warranty...!!!

actually chorizo has a point... i went and looked at a sohc zc for 100, the oil was black as night, and there was a nice big spider crack on the front of the block where it looks like a rod almost went through the block..

I have purchased several motors through craigslist. Most are long blocks complete with intake, disto, tranny, alt attached....I have not paid more than $250. I bought a short block for $75. Just this past Thursday we bought a complete with accessories long block for 175.

the deals are out there, you just need to look. We have had the most success with criagslist.

So pretty much: Deals happen on Craigslist, just gotta find them but they can be risky?

And Importers have warranty and are probably much fresher, at least 3X as much?

I'll keep doing what I am doing I suppose.

Thanks.
