Any update on the ACL bearing crisis lol
I ordered mines from Laskey racing. I don't know if you were looking for the race bearings? I know those were on back order last time I tried to get em from fjdistributors
I'm redoing my b20vtec, i'm catching the bearings before it spins them and the crank is shot, losing oil psi, and i've tested and replaced just about everything..so the next step is the bearings.

ACL is rebuilding new factory. There is no ETA on arrival, I was in same predicament as you bud, waited 2 months for them to come in and dealer (Innes) had no luck getting any info from them either. Dealer kept me up to date, but ACL's are hard to find. I managed to find a set on Ebay in stock for same pricing and bought those.
ACL Race + Duraglides are not available from ACL, until their new factory is done and they start production again.

Caught the oil pump too late.. it was wayyyy past the stock measurements, it was expanded alot , rubbing against the upper and lower walls and like, pressed very hardly against each other...
I checked the gauge and also used a snapon oil pressure tested, and i replaced everything
oil pick up
oil pump all the gaskets and suched, primed it and it cranked right up and acted normal for alittle..
Then went back to having shitty pressure.. vtec is on and off so yea, i'm kindof to the point to where its time to face facts.
I'd rather tear it down, and replace the bearings and not have to worry about it, and not wait to hear rod knock and a 7000 build be shot..

lol you use OEM when you got a gsr or type r since they come.with the trimetal bearing design. atleast that's what I've picked out from all my HT research. lol

ACL are good bearings.. They actually make OEM Honda bearings, at least this is what I'm told.
ACL/Calico/King bearings are all made by the same company, its just that ACL/Calico/King puts their own teflon coating on them and then sells them. Any of those brands should get you where you want to be.
I've heard bad things about the basic line of Clevites.. but heard that their "Race" series are good stuff.
I went with Calicos on my build and they've done well for me.. and my brother who's B16 revs to 9500rpm with no issues.

i prefer king bearings over OEM or ACL in a performance application. they use a thicker aluminum surface which resists "spinning" and damage under extreme rpm and loads. i never had a bearing related issue using king bearings.

If ur crank is f' up y not replace the crank with a known standard one and replace with some bearings b/c trust if the crank is warped just a hair u gonna be taking it apart not too far soon after.
ACL filed bankruptsy and is finished. they let all of their employees go due to the recession.
if they reopen under a new name it will be after training new employees from scratch.
King made acl's standard bearings anyway. acl did their own race series.
if you want the standard series just go w/ king. they are same thing in different packaging and cheaper.

Just read this on engine builder:
In a joint statement, Automotive Components Ltd, Tasmania, Australia, and ACL Distribution, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI, announced the purchase of ACL Distribution, Inc. by Tim Vehlewald. The agreement provides Vehlewald, who becomes president, CEO and chairman of the new company, with ownership of the company which includes its name, company assets and exclusive marketing and distribution rights for the use of the ACL and Race Series names and products in North and South America.
ACL Distribution, Inc., had been a wholly owned subsidiary of Automotive Components Ltd, prior to this transaction. ACL Distribution, Inc., now an independent company, will remain in operation from its present location and will continue to purchase passenger car/ light truck and Race Series engine bearings from ACL Bearing Company for sale in the Americas. The company has also established purchasing agreements with other offshore OEM bearing manufacturers and will outsource from these companies as necessary. ACL Distribution, Inc. will market its products under the ACL, Race Series brands, as well as a new brand name yet to be determined. Race Series branded engine bearings will continue to be manufactured by ACL Bearing Company.
It is expected that the new operations will alleviate the supply problems ACL Distribution, Inc. and its customers have experienced for the last eighteen months, during which time ACL Bearing Company had been operating under receivership management. Tim Vehlewald said that he anticipates his company’s fill rate to improve steadily and to reach a 90 to 95 percent level by January 2011.

I'm using kings race bearings working good for my h23vtec standard size bearings. I have 7,000 miles on bottom end spinning 8,000rpm with stock rods.
