for my build it shows 11.51 with a 3 layer OEM gasket.
how acurate is that calculator?
81.5mm pr3 pistons
in a gsr block/head
head is milled .003
stock valves
for the pro2s its recommended higher compression
so with a 1 layer gasket it will give me 12.06 which i was aiming for initially.
but is a 1 layer gasket gonna hold 12.06 compression
is it weaker or stronger than OEM thickness gasket.

im worried about that too lol
well according to tha calculator the pr3 pistons have more piston to deck clearance
.035 for pr3 and .033 for gsr.
after taking off .003 off the head surface i only decreased it by .001 total.
with one layer gasket + piston to deck clearance it equals to 0.0416
the pro2 lift is 12.8 what does that number tell?
is that how far the valve lifts off the seat or is it the top of the cam lobe?
is there a formula to calculate the aproximate clearance without claying the engine?
RS machines no aailable in p30
it was a choice between pr3,p73 or ctr pistons for 81.5mm on ebay.

i'd say assemble the engine clay the pistons and see how much room u have u can even look through the intake and exhaust ports with the intake mani and exhaust mani off the engine on an engine stand. So clay and looking in the ports while u rotate the engine by hand with a really good hid flash light should give u a good idea.
And i use that compression calculator alot and gives u a pretty good starting base but it's always good to measure 3 times or 4 before u torque the head down and rev that puppy.
And u would also need to lock in the vtec lobes also while doing this. Maybe someone can chime in on how 2 do that.

oh i just remembered.
i red somewhere to use an old gasket to clay the engine.
instead of the gasket is it possible to use copper washers of same thickness as the gasket to be used?
that way ill be able to see inbetween the head and the block and maybe get a better view of the valves and pistons?

Not a regular flashlight the really bright hid ones i use them in the shop all the time with brake inspections and such u would be surprised those things could blind u lol.
