Default ckf sensor not letting my car start.

i have a 97 ex coupe that now has a d16y7 in it. who ever did the swap did it right minus this. i have been driving it for a few months now and about a month after i had the car i popped the hood and was just looking whenever i noticed that particular sensor had been rubbing on the altanator belt. so i moved it out of the way but the wires had already been mangled by the belt. it still ran but started to throw a code for the ckf sensor. well i just got in my car to leave and i turned the key on,fuel pumped primed, and went to crank it and absolutely nothing happend. is the ckf the villian for this not starting problem? battery is charged and i can push start it. if this ckf is the problem can i do the bypass trick on it to make it work or should i just break down and do the hard job of replacing it. if the trick will work i'll do it.

No, the bad CKF won't prevent the starter from cranking the engine. Check your battery, safety switch at the top of the clutch pedal, and the starter itself.

so i went on a kick today and fixed everything that was on my cel's. and yes master ron you were correct, i fixed it and still nothing. i could not beat the darkness as it slowly came so tomorrow i'm gonna unplug the nuetral safty switch and check it. the battery is good, i ran a wire from the battery to the starter and it fired right up.

I've been called a lot of names but never master.

It's never a bad idea to fix CEL problems. The most common problem with the clutch switch is that the rubber stopper falls out or breaks:

Can't tell how hard that would be to get too. My car is having a similar problem. I finished a pizza delivery and got in the car to leave. Turned the key like normal and nothing happened. Literally nothing. I had the battery checked today its fine. If the starter was bad wouldn't it still make some noise? It can be push started its at my mechanic's shop now. All lights and A/C come one when I put the key to on.

Weird... why is the locknut for "clutch switch A" labeled "locknut B", and the locknut for "clutch switch B" labeled "locknut A" lol
