Default 98 civic ex starting issue, Need Help ....

While trying to start it no check engine light or battery light comes on while just turning the key on , if i hold to crank position nuthing , let go an try to crank it again , the cooling fan turns on .... ( every once in a great while ill hear the fuel pump kick on like normal ) so i push start the car n Pop the Clutch and the car starts instantly , I all ready replaced the Starter n when i did so it started up normal then after driving it for about 10 min an parked n turn the car off , n then to make sure it did fix it i tried starting it again , an back to the old problem. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I need my car for this weekend so hoping to find a fix for this today .....

Test the ignition switch (there may be a TSB for your car - call the Honda dealer):

First test the switch. If it tests bad, call Honda about a possible TSB for your car.

Check here for some TSBs:

TSBs are not always easy to find, so spend some time searching. Alternatively, call Honda and tell them your VIN. They should look it up for you.

Check the switch. If it tests bad, the fix is not too expensive or difficult.

When you turn the key to ON(II), sometimes the dash warning lights don't turn on, right? Then you try again and the lights sometimes work, right? Or is the problem only when you turn to ON(III), the starter does not crank? For the latter, check the safety starter switch and the rubber stopper that it presses on at the top of the clutch pedal.

If the ignition switch connector (wire harness) also has 12.6V on the Wht wire, then I would recheck the ignition switch. Full power does not seem to be getting past the switch, as suggested by the dim dash lights.

It is a strange problem, you may have a bad ground to you fuse case, or to the ignition switch, try to jump it. Also check the fuse and relay, sometimes brakes but still works giving some eratic problems. Even with the starter signal line broken the dash ligths should be fine and the car can be start by pushing it. It looks like a ground problem or a broken line to the ignition swicth to me.

When you turn the key to ON everything is dead? Radio, oil presure, check engine, alternator, wipers. If everything is dead check the swicth. If not, you have a weak or lose connection.
