If you dont want to loud, and a decent sound without the raspy fart can sound, keep your cat on there, up the piping size a 1\4inch after cat to a magnaflow or greddy axle back. The greddy sp2 axle back with a cat sounds really deep and not very loud at all. The magnaflow will work too if cost is an issue, but will give you a more high pitched sound usually.

then your going to need to study on sound waves and dynamics of sound travel through metal and dimensions. Go grab a book and learn what diameter piping, how restricted, length of piping and length of resonator, type of cat, type of muffler, shape of muffler, test pipe if you dont want a cat, and thickness and type of metal. Also check up on exhaust flow, restriction and backpressure. Also check up on the effects of vibration on sound and metal. Or you can pick something up from ebay and call it a day.

Ha ha ha nice, I have the exact same setup on my EM1.
I also have the the AEM V2 CAI (which sounds great in VTEC).

The combo is a little loud BUT since it sounds good (not like a fart can/ weed wacker) I put up with the volume.

Oh, to the OP I heard a lot of people really like the Apexi WS2... supposedly not too loud and looks closer to stock.

I have a greddy evo2 and it sounds awesome. little louder than you might want though. If you keep the cat it is pretty deep sounding.
