Default b20b p8r build questions

Just bought myself a B20b with the P8R head, and im looking to rebuild it a bit to make a reliable DD.

Could I put the OEM PHK pistons in there without adding a knock sensor? Is there a p2v issue with these pistons?

Is there harm done in adding vtec water pump, oil pump and timing belt? Is it even worth it?

I also have a block girdle from a gsr short block, could I add this along with the other vtec internals to 'strengthen' the block?

What size valves can I use on the p8r head if I were to get some port work done (ie what is feasable oversize I can run)?

the valves are shorter then the LS counterpart.. The P8R head also has 33mm vtec sized intake valves that are 2mm shorter. So they are custom sized. You can get a 3 or 5 angle done.

As for the engine, was this purchased right out of a shop or was it used here in some kids eg hatch...

If its somewhat 1st being cranked since it left japan, it should be fine for use as is. As for adding new pistons and such is up to you. NA high comp builds are pretty fun.

Im not sure of piston to cam clearance with throwing in a set of cams.. But i have read where others have thrown in a set of stage 2 crowers w/o issue...yet?

Might need to clay it to be sure.

Hope that helps
