Rattle canned my engine bay today
Well to start off, when I bought my car the engine bay was filthy dirty. I don't even know how it got so dirty. I tried to clean up the bay several times but the dirt and everything was literally in the paint. The car had a y7 when I bought it, so I didn't care to do anything with the bay really.
I recently swapped a b18a1 a few weeks ago so today I decided to freshen up the bay. I don't have the funds to pay for a legit paint job in my engine bay, nor do I care enough to pay someone, so I bough some sandpaper and paint and went to work this morning.
I masked things off fairly well, but didn't spend tons of time doing it. The only overspray really is in the back where it was difficult to mask things off.
Anyways here's a before, during, and after picture. Don't mind the filter, I didn't have an intake tube when I swapped the car.

i may work at a different pace than others, but i i probably could have pulled that motor/trans faster than it took you to mask all that ****, which is what i would have done.
looks good from what i can see in the pics. but like what said i would have pulled the motor and stuff out too. different strokes for different folks though. but it still looks good.l
looks good...but couldn't you have just cleaned it up before and kept it white to match the car??? unless the paint was that f'ed up or you're planning to respray the entire car...but none-the-less it looks good from the pics
I tried several times to clean it. None of it would come out with anything I tried. Only after I started sanding on it did it come off and by then it looked like crap. Thanks!
