we need more information. Are there any check engine lights? what exactly was wrong with the wiring that cause you to "rewire it"..

when it sputters, is it at idle? part throttle? full throttle?

I disagree. If you run the correct ECU for the car, and your wiring is correct, it should have no problems. Converting a messed up obd0 mpfi swap to obd1 will do nothing to fix the problem, and will just introduce more potential for problems.

I agree with sanimal..

The most common problem is the O2 sensors being wired backwards
or not hooked up at all..

when it spits and sputters, does it smoke alot out of the exhaust? and does it smell like unburnt fuel? you probably didnt tape off the 2 original dual point injector wires that ran to the ecu. when you converted it to multi-point, you had to de-pin the original 2 injector wires to the ecu in order to pin in the new 4 injector wires. just make sure those 2 loose pins are taped off so they cant ground out. i had that same problem with my car.

ok so here goes why i had to re wire the car just remember it ran like a dream before doing so.....I traded my 1993 civic coupe for this car hoping it was in good shape that was not the case once i got it home and pulled the carpet back on the drivers side and saw nothing but a rats nest of wires most of them cut and going no where with that said i took the motor harness the dash harness and the rear harness and bought all new ones for a 1991 civic four door lx... NOW i had a friend who said he knew how to convert it from dpfi to mpfi with no problems so i let him have at it...with that bein said he wired it all up and even had to change it from a A15 main Relay to A13 pin when the car was A15 it would not start as soon as he changed it she fired right up but wouldnt idle at first and still is having trouble idle and if i let the car warm up she seems to drive decent for bout 10 miles before she starts cutting out it feels like just at a cruising speed then if i drop from like 5th to 3rd and rail her all the way to 8k rpms she runs fine for bout 10 more miles then does the cutting out feeling again hope all this helped i do know the O2 sensor isnt hooked up and the IACV could both these also be a problem PLEASE no negativity i will get both hooked up tomorrow when i buy a new o2 sensor.....also YES sometimes i do smell unburnt fuel sometimes but i thought it was because the car is fully stripped from the front seats back....once again any help would be useful this is my first obdo car and would love to see her run like she did
