The speedometer problem could be a bad or improperly installed VSS. Look in to that. If the VSS bracket is broken or missing, it can move out of place which causes the speedometer to act crazy.
The A/C could be as simple as a refill, but could be more complex. You should take it have have the system leak tested to see if all of the seals are good as well as to check for performance of the compressor and condenser.
Good luck with it. I love black 5th gen coupes. If I could find one in decent shape, I would buy it to replace my red one. Full color changes are very expensive, but around here Hondas are not well maintained.

Paste your pic links into the Image icon so that they display.
More info about the problems would help.
Speedo:
Any CEL codes? Does the CEL work?
A/C:
Does the A/C button light turn on? Does the compressor clutch engage? Does the condenser fan run?

thanks. I think first im going to fix the little problems ( AC , speedo ofcourse little stuff like that . then I want to do the interior theres no rips in the seats or anything but the car has a lil weird smell so just want to do carpet , seats, mats , dash and see if I can put an arm rest . Then move to the body looks good in the picture but in person theres a couple trouble spots. I saw a carbon fiber front in on one b4 like mine it loooked pretty cool but not sure yet. Im thinking about changing the color of the wheels to gold or tading for some identical golds. i want to put some headers soon.
All in all i want to keep it just real clean and simple nothing to stand out to much just to get the reaction like " damn thats a clean civic"

Nice man, I'm really looking forward to following this. I hope you keep us updated and take pictures and give details along the way.
I have a 96 civic I'm trying to improve but I'm a total newbie. I, too, like the clean look.

I got this in a trade . I used to drive a camaro z28
. But im jobless at the moment and it was a spoiled little bitch and expensive too ( gas mainly ) so I traded her for this a little cash. I took a loss with the value of the cars but I had to get out of it for right now.
thanks man , i will mos def update once I get the revamp ball rolling.
that will be as soon as i pick up another job lol

and good luck with yours as well, got any pics ?
