Do OBDII ECU's have 4 plug ports?
OBD2 ECU's have four plug sockets but only use 3 of them at one time... 96-98 OBD2a uses the first 2 and the farthest right one (A,B,D) 99+ OBD2b uses (A,B,C). All you have to do to know if the ECU is OBD1 or OBD2 is look at the pins in the female sockets on the ECU. If they are stacked 3 high then you have an OBD2 ECU if they only have two stacks then it's non OBD or OBD1. Hope this helps
