AXXIS Ultimates VS. Hawk HPS
I finally have a little extra cash, so I decided I would pick up some decent brake pads. I talked w/ Andie from cobalt and he reccomend the Axxis pads. But then other people have reccomended the hawk HPS, or even the hawk HP plus. I autocross sometimes, and dont want excessive brake dust, but I want something that bites a little harder than OEM pads. So with those things in mind which pads would you reccomend? I'm leaning towards the Axxis pads because I have heard lots of good things about them and Andie and give me a pretty decent price on them.
What do you guys think?

I can't help much. I have Hawk HP+ on the rear of my car and they have squeaked constantly since the day I put them on. The HPS would be a better choice for street/autocross... if you want to go with Hawk.
If it were me, I'd just go with the Ultimates.

I have the axxis ultimates on my si and love them. They dust a lot though, if i wash my wheels they'll be completely covered in brake dust in just a few days. Might be my braking habits(threshold braking at every available stoplight) and since i have rota gunmetal wheels it blends right in. I will suggest them but don't expect them to be dust-free.
I've had both sets of pads and I would go for the Axxis pads. They stop better than the HPS and dust a similiar amount. Now the Axxis pads will dust more than OEM, but it is not corrosive so just clean them a little more. Its a trade off, but well worth it.
Axxis dust comes of more easily than Hawk HP+ dust, in my experience. The HP+ required heavy scrubbing if it sat for a little while, the Ultimate dust sprayed off without much difficulty. I think it was Andie who suggested wiping the wheels down with a rag + Pledge right after you've cleaned them. Works wonders for making the dust slide off when the wheels do get dirty.
