cable transmission
I was wondering if anyone has put a cable transmission into your civic and how you did it? i have seen some kits that allow hydraulic slave cylinders used with a cable trans?
Maybe he has an lsd cable gearbox lined up for cheap or already has one from a previous vehicle.Heres a link that i spent a long!!!!!!!!!!! time looking for when i was making a conversion kit.It is the only link i could find of the h/c conversion kit installed hope this helps. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/emma-under-construction-my-hatch-build-2494140/
Its justabout at the bottom of the page. Its fairly simple to make i used some 3/8 metal and cut it out to the best of my ability to match his. Then i used washers to shim it correcty. Then used a tie rod end out of a ski doo with an adjusting shaft. It worked perfectly.I rigged up a mount as well. That wasn't so pretty.
Here was my monstrosity

I never knew i still had them hope this helps

thanks alot, thats what i was hoping to do
to be honest i have an awd D series cable trans and its the only way to go, i have a pretty heavy duty clutch and want to convert the whole system over to hydraulic to make it a little easier and less to worry about (cable stretch, bending pedals etc)

im pretty sure you can buy just the mount for the top pass side. There will be some shifting issues where the 90-93 cable gearbox dosent share the same lower torque mount. You wil also have to change over your vss.

trans is in a cable car already so i will be converting the whole car, but figured this would be a good forum to make the post since most cable cars dont need nor want to convert
so what exactly are your plans.Putting a cable trans 88-91 civic into a 92-95 hydro say...??
I wouldnt not advise you to try and covert your whole system out.Ive read up on this and attemted to do a cable swap on a 95 teg ls.Its Far tomuch work.Thats why thier are conversion kits out there .Now the c/h conversion is something you wouldn't be able to create so easy.It i worth looking it up on google its kinda freaky.Make a post on this to get people to post up thier conversion kits sure.
