gsr locked up after case goes together
i rebuilt a gernaded gsr transmission for a guy, who put atf in the tranny... destroyed the bearings, ring and pinion etc... etc... so after replaceing a whole bunch of stuff and half the case due to damge and possible stress cracks the tranny locked up.... wont spin at all, but when the case is apart the trans spind freely... what gives? i used a small vent tube case, the same as what came off of it. I need some help. there are also two shims on the differantial, its a tapered bearing style, both side are the same... is that normal for tapered? When i got inside the tranny i realized someone had been in it before as honda does not use black rtv to put the case back together.
so i would really appreciate any idea, or help. I changed the forks, and the shifter mechanism with known good ones.
HELP!

Take it one step at a time and start with only the differential. Assemble the case with only the differential and 3 preload shims to check the bearing preload. The bell case takes one 2.5mm shim and the main case takes 2 shims (one 2.0mm & one approx. 1.6mm). After checking the Diff preload install only the main shaft and check the M/S preload.
