Default New here need Just a little help

Ive searched seem to be having problems but im just looking for a guide / how to on replacing the cam seals on the timing side behind the cam gears. On a b16. If someone could point me in the right direction id really be greatfull thanks.

Or you could just tell me how. I know how to pull and replace a timing belt already but never ran into this before. Can I just pull the cam gears off to access ? Or do I have to pull of the cam retainer plates to ? Also should i loosen the game gear bolts before taking the timing belt off?

Retainer plates? I'm used to D-Series where you can pull of the gear, place seal, and call it a day. Hopefully someone can give you an accurate answer for B-Series.

what you're referring to is called a cam cap. some people say you need to loosen them up to aid in replacing the seal but it's definitely not necessary. it's not hard to do though so however you want to go about doing it. anywho, seal replacement is not any different on a b vs. a d.

ah wait. you have a b16 so you can't just remove the one cap because it's all one piece.

here's torque specs for reassembly

and yes lube up the seal with a bit of engine oil.
