Default D16y7 turbo

I have d16y7 with the y8 head on in my compretion is 11.1
in I want to now. What feul to use and who many lb of boost
can put in?

low boost 5-8psi pending on turbo or your gonna have to be using race gas.

Suggesting race gas may be jumping to conclusions a bit early... How about we ask some more questions first?

-Guzman, we need more info on the setup as a whole.
-Has you car been tuned? If not, GET IT TUNED.

Tuning will solve all your problems with driveability and the tuner will tune it for whatever gas you want to use (which will be premium at least). Though if you are truly running at around 11:1 compression just on the motor alone, you are asking for trouble... Again, give us more info on the whole setup.

Indeed a lovely thread jack. I'd tell you to make your own thread, but the subject has been covered so many times I hope you don't. Just don't thread jack again please.

The answer is SIMPLE. For "real" power you can:

-Hook up nitrous (which won't give you THAT much power) and probably end up having to rebuild it later on (not that nitrous just kills motors, it's usually the inexperienced user that does).
-Save your money until you can go forced induction.

It's that easy. Bolt-ons will get you no where, but if you want them, go ahead. Just don't expect neck-breaking power AT ALL.

feul? fuel? feul? fuel? Use any kind of fuel you want and max your boost. Make another thread later on how it went.

save up...do it right the first time so you dont got to be rippin apart several motors. if u want it cheap just build the bottom end..keep the head stock.. peice together ur own kit. go autoworks has alot of good stuff. and get a TUNE...thats where reliable will come from.

you can just put the engine out and buy vitara piston, eagles rods, acl duraglide bearings and arp studs, and you will have aprox 300whp at 18 psi with 94 octane, depend on the turbo and fuel supply you have. When this setup is done properly this is a setup very reliable and rellly fun to drive on the streets.

i have my head eith blox reteiner and sprind and im using the crower stage 1# cam. for the block i have the racing bearings and the forge rods but the only thing is no forge is the pistons and i have my M/T lsp

That's great and all, but from what I'm gathering the OP has enough to figure out besides dealing with a vitara setup.

Ok... your post is kind of hard to understand but I guess I get the jist of it.

You still didn't answer how your compression was calculated (whether that's with turbo or N/A). That is VERY important for being able to give you more advice.

How will you be tuning the car?

Well frankly I wouldn't even turbo it at that compression. That's really high for a turbo build and you will end up having to use e85 at the VERY least.

Regardless I can't imagine that being a very good setup, especially for the street.

You'll make at least in the low to mid 200whp range, but that's really irrelevant as I doubt it will hold together very well. Even if it did I doubt you'd be happy with it. Compression in the 9 range would be a good to shoot for, even 10 if you really want.

Recently just went through the same thing when a customer brought a car to me. He had a Y7 with a Y8 head, compression was around 10.6:1.
Boost was not really an option at that point, at least not reliably. I recommended a Y7 head (which is easily found) an swap it back, which will bring the compression back to a mear 9.5:1. If you want the cheap way to turbo that motor, just ARP head studs, fuel injectors, regulator and pump. All can be purchased cheaply and have a GOOD tune put on it and you should be fine around the 200hp range.

was the 11:1 static or running? cuz if its static, the running compression will always be lower than that figure due to valve overlap, im tryna do the same 10.5 CR with low boost, its possible, u jes gotta know wut ur doing. still researching ..

oh yeah the y8 heads good for fighting detonation since it was designed to, u jes gotta figure out wut parts to use to ur advantage, wut piston to run for good flame propogation, yada yada yada, its confusing ..
